  • Charles D. Porter, 81, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at a local hospital. Charles was born in Huntley, Illinois to the late Raymond and Gladys (Fisher) Porter.

    Charles proudly served in the United States Army, Chuck was an Avid golfer, a wonderful companion, Father, Grandfather and Friend.

    Survivors include, Special Companion and Lady Friend Saundra Walter, Son Charles & Melissa Porter, Daughters Saundra & Joe Zawistowski, Colette  & Todd Vanderkin, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was also survived by three step daughters, Karen & Tom Meyer, Karla & Tom Gilles, Kim & Todd Seidl and one step son Richard Schwell, a Brother Ray Porter and a sister Anna Long.

    Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, with Funeral starting at 6:00. Mr. Porter will be buried at Windridge Cemetery in Carey, Illinois.

    Memorials may be sent in honor of Charles Porter to St. Judes Children s Research Hospital at P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142   Memphis, TN 38101-9908.

    Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to CedarVale Funeral Home.

    We were so sorry to hear about Chuck's passing. He was a great guy and we had just recently become neighbors. While in the process of moving in, Chuck and Sandy, both came over and helped us, totally relaying a wonderful welcome to the neighborhood. We did share a meal together and thoroughly enjoyed Chuck's company and his sense of humor. We will miss being able to spend more time together. Rest in Peace Chuck, glad we were able to know you. Condolences to the family.
